About the Stream of Dreams^TM Program

The Stream of Dreams^TM Program brings awareness to communities about their local watersheds through environmental education and stunning public artwork. The goal of the program is to improve water quality, while at the same time creating a community art legacy as a reminder of our environmental responsibilities.

The program originated in Burnaby, British Columbia where it is administered by the Stream of Dreams Murals Society. Conservation Halton is proud to be the first organization to officially bring the program to Ontario and to our watershed! 

Dreamfish Murals

Dreamfish are fish shapes cut from plywood and painted in the most imaginative colours and designs by elementary school children and other program participants.

A minimum of 150 fish are required to achieve the stunning visual effect which are  then mounted on a chainlink fence of your choice to create a mural.

The mural serves as a stunning reminder of the importance of protecting water sources within each community. Of course, before all this can happen, Stream of Dreams instructors from Conservation Halton facilitate watershed education workshops for your group.

Costs: $5 per participant (or a minimum of $350) plus materials for the wooden fish (plywood & exterior paint).

Services and materials included:

• Design, planning and watershed research
• All supplies for the education and painting workshops
• Art and environmental instructors for the workshops (We can instruct 6 classes a day. Each class will rotate through two 45 minutes workshops.)
• Mural Installation
