Learn to Ski and Snowboard Programs

Conservation Halton operates Glen Eden, where group lesson programs are offered for all levels of skiing and boarding ability.

Program descriptions

School Program

During school programs, groups are greeted by a member of the Glen Eden Ski Patrol who boards the bus and welcomes visitors to the hill. The alpine Responsibility Code is reviewed for all students.

After all lesson tags have been given out, groups proceed into the lodge area to drop off lunch bags and pick up equipment from the rental shop.

Recreational Group Programs

Organize a group of 15 or more and receive a discount on lift tickets, lessons and rentals! Plan a get-together for your social, business, church, guide or scout group. Lesson times based on availability. Recreational group bookings must be made a minimum of 1 week in advance and prepaid upon booking.

Reservation and Rates

Once everyone is outfitted in proper equipment, groups then proceed to the lesson centre. Glen Eden uses the Pod System for beginner and novice skiers. The Pod System involves six learning stations where students advance at their own pace. The ski lesson is one hour in duration.

Due to a unique learning curve the snowboarding lesson is structured differently; the group size is smaller and skills are not taught at Pod stations. The snowboard lesson is an hour and a half in duration.

Although both lessons are set up differently, our instructors still focus on individual attention and achieving the learning outcomes. Certified instructors assess the ability of each skier and boarder at the end of their lesson. If they are ready to proceed, a slope specific “fluorescent label” is issued that allows them to access more difficult terrain. There are three skill levels available.

There are also opportunities for school children that are physically challenged to participate at Glen Eden. The Ontario Track 3 Ski Association has many dedicated volunteers who support the school program. For availability, please call group bookings at Glen Eden at least 3 weeks in advance.
